The name Steinborn-Busse was created on 3rd August 1953 on birth of Klaus-Peter the father of Kayne Steinborn-Busse owner and Founder of the SB Group,
The history of the name
Our History
Kuniburt Gustav Busse (far left) was born 7th May 1923 to Hedwig Busse out of wedlock in Göring, Pomerania, Germany, now Poland. Kunibert’s father is Herman Steinborn. Hedwig was from a middle class family and Herman was lower class therefore they could not marry, Hedwig died in childbirth or shortly after.
Our German Roots
During the 2nd World War Kuniburt received the Iron Cross First Class and Bravery Medal but whilst in Libya was captured by the Americans and sent to a POW camp in Texas, En route back to Germany the ship stopped in Liverpool where he was put to work on the land. In 1948/49 he met Jean Griffiths who then had four sons.
The Family Name
The name Steinborn-Busse was created on 3rd August 1953 on birth of Klaus-Peter the father of Kayne Steinborn-Busse owner and Founder of the SB Group, it was Kunibert’s desire to unify his father’s name with his mother’s name.
To This Day
In 1962, Kuniburt, moved to Virginia Water and started work at Saville Gardens. To this day, his passion is the main force that drives us to continue the tradition of true family values.
